Sex Education – It’s MY Right!
Are you aged 17 or under?
Do you believe that all schools should teach sex and relationships education (SRE)?
Life in my Shoes believes that every young person should have the right to comprehensive sex and relationships education at school. At the moment, this is not the case and as a result, young people are getting varying levels of SRE education which can lead to misunderstanding about their sexual health, healthy relationships and overall well being.
We can change this.
There is a new campaign run by the Sex Education Forum called ’SRE – It’s my Right’. It is calling on the leaders of the Government and Official Opposition Parties to make sex and relationships education compulsory for all schools.
A petition is open exclusively for young people under 18 to sign. It says:
“I call on you to make the important topic of sex and relationships education (SRE) compulsory as part of an entitlement to statutory PSHE. This should be for all schools, including primary schools. Without it, there are many issues that affect me on a daily basis which I am not being taught about. I urge you to support a better education that helps young people and future generations have good health and respectful relationships. SRE is my right”.
If you agree, please sign the petition and pass the message on to other young people.

Thank you for your help.
